Hydroponic Mesh Pots
Mesh pot - also known as a net pot - is designed for hydroponic and semi-hydroponic growing systems. The open mesh structure allows roots to grow freely through the sides and bottom, ensuring optimal access to water, nutrients, and oxygen. This promotes strong, healthy root development and significantly reduces the risk of overwatering compared to traditional closed pots. These sorts of pots are not just suitable for aroids in semi-hydro setup, but also orchids.
Made from durable, lightweight plastic, the mesh pot is resistant to moisture and fertilizers, making it suitable for long-term use in high-humidity environments. It can be used with substrates such as LECA or mineral mix, or placed directly in a reservoir for hydroponic setups.
Although currently available in one size, additional sizes will be added to the assortment in the near future.
Self-watering setup options
This mesh pot can easily be converted into a passive self-watering system by using either:
- Mesh pot + Clear cup (sold separately) - functions as a simple water reservoir
- Mesh pot + Water level indicator + Opaque cache pot - for a more advanced and visually clean setup
These sethos allow for better control over water levels and ensure a consistent moisture supply to the roots.
