Shipping policy

Processing & Shipping Schedule

All orders are processed in line with our fixed shipping schedule. Dispatch takes place on Mondays and Tuesdays only.

Plant Orders

  • Plant orders placed up to Sunday are shipped on Monday. This ensures the highest chance of safe delivery before the weekend.
  • Domestic, German, and Belgian plant orders may also be shipped on Tuesday when conditions allow.

Non-Plant Orders

  • Orders without plants are shipped on Tuesdays.

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details.

Important Notes

Shipping may be delayed due to holidays or unsuitable weather conditions (for plant safety). If this applies to your order, you will be informed in advance.

Shipment Holds & Pre-orders

Your order may be placed on hold in the following cases:

  • Pre-order items – If your order includes products marked as pre-order, the entire order will be shipped once all items are available.
  • Unsafe weather conditions – To protect live products (eg. plants), shipments may be delayed during periods of extreme heat, cold, or severe weather. Orders will be held until conditions are safe for transit. You will be informed accordingly.

These measures are taken to ensure your plants arrive in optimal condition.

Postponed Shipments

If you are unavailable to receive your order, you may request a delayed shipment.
Please leave a note in the “Notes” field at checkout indicating your preferred shipping week or date.

Delivery Address Accuracy

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a complete and accurate shipping address, including:

  • Street name and number
  • Apartment/unit number (if applicable)
  • Postal code, city, and country
  • E-mail address and phone number
  • Any relevant delivery instructions

Please review your details carefully before completing your order.
Address changes can only be made before dispatch.

SMUKHI is not responsible for:

  • Delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete address details
  • Additional shipping costs for returned or re-shipped parcels
  • Packages marked as delivered but not received due to:

    •  

      Incorrect or incomplete address details

    • Customer-provided delivery instructions (e.g. leave at door, neighbor, parcel locker)

If a parcel is returned due to an undeliverable address, re-shipping can be arranged at the customer’s expense.

Important: Live products (plants, cuttings, corms, seeds, seedlings) may not survive return transit and are non-refundable in such cases.

Minimum Order Value

Orders under €10 (excluding shipping) are subject to a €2 packing surcharge to help cover material and handling costs. This fee will be added to the invoice after the order is placed.

Orders over €10 are not subject to any additional fees.

Shipping Rates and Services

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and chosen service.

Depending on the destination, orders are shipped via DPD, DHL, UPS, or PostNL, always with a tracking number.

For plant orders - especially to more distant countries - we highly recommend choosing UPS Express to ensure the fastest delivery.

If delays are expected with the selected service, we may upgrade the shipping method at no extra cost to you, provided the alternative has equal or greater value.

Local Pickup

You may choose free local pickup in Geleen, The Netherlands by selecting this option during checkout.

  • Pickup orders are usually ready the same or next business day. Pickup is available on Mon, Tue, and Fri only. Custom pickup dates can be arranged upon request.
  • You'll receive an email notification once your order is ready, with instructions for pickup.

Visits to the location are by appointment only unless you’ve placed a pickup order.
To plan a visit, email contact@smukhi.nl. You’ll be able to see all available products as well as view plants from the private collection.

International Shipping

We currently ship to the following countries:

EU Countries (All products eligible):
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.

Non-EU Countries (excluding live or organic products):
Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom (UK), United States (US).

Order Tracking

Once your order is shipped, you’ll receive an email with your tracking number. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking information to become available.

If you have not received your order within 7 days of receiving your shipping confirmation, please contact us at contact@smukhi.nl with your name and order number.
